2009 mitsubishi galant the SRS light just went on and wont turn off
JA: Is anything interfering with the seatbelt latch?
Customer: did not real check that but told the passenger to undo and refasten
JA: Are you fixing your Galant yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: real nothing thing about disconnecting the battery and see if it reset itself
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

It is possible for a dead/weak battery to cause the SRS light to come on solid, The reason for it setting the SRS light is that the SRS system requires a static voltage to operate properly, and is unsafe/unreliable below that voltage. If you have a weak battery, the SRS system second guesses it's reliability and shuts down for safety.
