Hi there i have a 1998 mitsubishi legnum vientto gdi and theres black smoke coming from the exhaust just wondering what it could be please

Ok thanx for the info it is fuel injected.Couple of things you can do is if it haven't bin tuned up recently do so ,spark plugs, air filter. also have the inmjectors power flushed to make sure they are spraying properly. Hope this gives you an idea where to start.
