My endeavor smells like burning oil?
230,000 mi. 2004 Mitsubishi
Engine is not leaking oil on the ground but friend and I have exceeded the amount of oil that the dip stick reads. I
Know I need routine oil change(synthetic or regular oil?) which is better? There is build up oil on engine, maybe the needs new oil gaskets? Help in Vallejo, Ca.

Where it usually leaks is the valve cover gasket and oil drips down onto the exhaust manifold and burns off. Very common to need replacement after that many miles.

As far as the oil goes, you should keep using whatever type its been used to with this many miles.
