I have an 01 Montero sport and my dash lights and taillights

Customer Question

I have an 01 Montero sport and my dash lights and taillights went out. Is there a fuse blown?
JA: Have you checked the bulbs? Have you checked the connection?
Customer: No. I hit a pothole and both stopped working so I figured it had to be a fuse.
JA: What year is your Montero Sport?
Customer: 2001.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. I'm trying to locate the fuses for the taillights and the dash lights.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No ma'am.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You could have a wiring or switch issue but odds are you have a blown fuse. It's likely that high current draw or a short to ground on the circuit, often from shorted trailer wiring, has blown the fuse. The park lamp circuit is protected by fuse 2 in the box under the hood, a 10 amp. the first thing you'll want to do is check this fuse.
