2006 eclipse egs timing belt broke do I fix it or junk it I dont have a lot of money....
JA: How many miles are on the car? Have you noticed any odd squeaking noises?
Customer: Not sure of milage & no no squeaking noises
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It just happened Thursday morning..... It was towed to a automotive place right down the street.....there the ones that said it was Timing belt....I've only had car a year

Customer: I tried to start it that morning & it was trying to turn over

Hi there,

A broken timing belt would mean the cylinder head will need to be removed to replace any valves that are bent.

A labour intensive job, could cost about $2000.

Sorry for bad news, fairly typical these days, hence the importance of timing belt replacement intervals.
