Timing belt broke going downhill in my 2003 2.4l mitsu galant. bought kit & did job. wen i attempted to start, just kept turning over & sounded like it had whooping cough. next day started right up. test drove it approx 5mi & engine cut out completely. i then checkd all connections, nada. next day started again & attempted to drive hgome. ran w/o any prob at 60mph for 5mi. engine died again. after sitting again, started rite up. any ideas? relatet to timing or other prob.

Did you replace the crankshaft position sensor when you did the belt? They get damaged when the belt breaks.
