Customer Question

Hey, I have a 2010 lancer, 5 speed manual. Recently had a new notor installed and now have a no crank no start. It makes some clicking when the key is turned on. Not like a bad battery or starter click, more like a relay but not from the fuse box. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Looking underneath the car at the AC compressor you will see two connectors that are single wire connectors... one goes to the AC compressor and one disappears under the intake.

Does the one with the green wire disappear under the intake (correct) or is it connected to the AC compressor (incorrect)?

The green wire is behind the inake mani.

It almost looks as though it loops into itself at the connection

Yeah, those are backward then my friend.... they are interchangeable, one goes to the starter one to the compressor.

Swap them around and let me know what you see... I would bet you will be OK then, and the noise you were hearing was the compressor clutch engaging when the start signal went down the wrong wire.
