Hi,

That's not a good thing.... are you seeing the AC light flash at all?
When it runs for 3 minutes, does the low side pipe (the larger diameter aluminum pipe) get cold during those 3 minutes?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
its cold and the fans turn off also
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

Thanks, ***** ***** a good sign of possibly just a low charge condition.

Do you have access to AC pressure gauges?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I thought that is what it was so he just checked it and it is good
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

What are your high side and low side pressures while it is running?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not sure just left the guy
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

Well the concern here is if the system is shutting down intentionally or not.

When the AC cuts off, do the outside fans stop too?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
really weird I just took it for a drive and now it's staying on when I've been driving
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

Hmm.
If you let it idle for a bit?

Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

If it continues to work OK and you want to close this for now just let me know.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'll just close it right now. We keep in touch all the time anyway
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

No problem; if it returns we can pick back up.

hey Doug my AC compressor keeps cutting out after like a minute I just don't know what the hell to do? 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

If it is turning back on after 10-60 seconds that is OK... the compressor should cut off after anywhere from 10 seconds and up (depends on charge amount, temperature outside, etc).

If it is not turning back on, then we would suspect a thermistor issue (in the evap box), pressure sensor issue, or even worn out clutch magnet.
We really would want to read the two sensor values on the scan tool to see what they are seeing, but you could also check for power at the clutch when it cuts out... if there is power there, then the magnet is bad.

I also notice my gauge lights for my rpm miles per hour and temperature go out after about three minutes just now the compressor just kick back in and it's been blowing cold air for about 3 minutes nowsomething is wrong
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the gauges just went back on
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
could this be because of the flooding in my floorboard I fix that issue with the pipe you told me to order now she just kicked off
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

Yeah, that sounds pretty unusual. I would check all your connectors particularly around the drivers kick panel ahead of the door etc for signs of corrosion or moisture in the wiring.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
hey Doug can you provide me with a schematic for the AC system please
Expert:  Doug replied 1 year ago.

Sure, I'll need a few minutes.
