i purchase a mitsubishi lancer 2006 manuacture. Made in japan. Hearing a sqeaking noise when going over humps at the front. Also when in rough or bumpy road the back suspension gives a noise as though there is something loose in the trunk as a loose spare tyre.

Hi,
With regard to the front noise there are extremely common areas that cause noise over bumps and rough terrain.
First is the common strut tops...these are the mounts that hold the tops of the struts to the frame. The rubber that stabilizes the strut deteriorates and causes the strut to move around. This will eventually lead to strut failure as well. It is desirable to replace the strut and strut top at the same time, since it is the same amount of work doing one or both. You can often notice some abnormalities if you try bouncing the fenders up and down while either holding your finger tips on the nut on the top of the strut or grabbing the shaft of the strut in between the spring coils.
The second common issue is the front sway bar end links. These attach to the ends of the sway bar and then extend through the lower control arm where they are bolted in. What happens a LOT on these is the end links break off of the lower control arm. The tension of the sway bar holds the links in place so they look OK, but from below either the end links will no longer protrude through the control arm (just a hole there), or there will be an obvious break in the end link bolt making it not appear straight etc. The best way to check this is to elevate the car and use large pry bars to flex the sway bar and see if they are still well attached to the control arms.
Regarding the rear noise, the same scenario applies with the strut mounts, however it is not as common as on the fronts.
What is more common is to see the bushings for the rear suspension links fail. Look at the bushings at all locations and watch for any signs of staining... like red marks where the metal has been hitting inside the bushing and water rinsing it out etc.
If nothing visual is found, take the large pry bar and check all bushings for excess play.
What is most common are the lower control arm outer bushings (that mount to the bottom of the rear spindles). These go out a lot on these car and cause awful rattling junk type noise in the rear on rough roads. Luckily these bushings are available separately from Mitsubishi if that proves to be the case... they are around $15.

hi went to another mechanic. i observed him he was checking most of whihech you said. He said all that he could see is the ball joints and the outer ends seem to be very dry. He said these do not have nipples for greasing since these are sealed. He suggested i take the car to have these drilled and nipples be inserted and have these then greased as he believed that this could be causing the noise at the front suspension. What do you think or any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi,
If the ball joints are dried out/splitting the preferred option here is to replace with new. These are not designed to be re-greased, sealed joints are meant to be run indefinitely and in the event of failure replaced. The sealed ball joints do not have provisions for allowing air to escape as you grease them... so when you put a zerk (nipple) on one that is sealed all you end up doing is breaking the rubber boot when you force grease in and it has nowhere to go. Serviceable joints have relief areas to let the pressure out (and the excess grease if over filled) without bursting the boot.
For people that prefer serviceable joints you can usually buy aftermarket ones for example from Moog that have grease zerks. These are designed to be regreased and would be your option if you wanted something you could stay on top of.
