how do I replace the turn signal headlight dimmer switch for 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Hi,The headlight/dimmer switch is very easy to replace on this vehicle as it is separately serviceable from the combination assembly on this model. It can be done in just a few minutes with only a philips screwdriver. You first need to remove the shroud from around the steering column. The shroud is in two pieces, a top and a bottom half. There are philips screws holding the two halves together from below. There should be a total of four screws to remove. Once the screws are out, you can bow or pry the two halves to unsnap them from each other and then set the two covers aside. You will now have access to the combination switches.Looking the the turn signal switch as it points at you, you will see one of two things; Either a philips screw on the top and bottom of the base of the switch, or two black plastic levers. If you have the screws, remove them. If you have the plastic levers, squeeze them together. Then just slide the switch out of the carrier assembly.Reinstall in the reverse order and you will be all set.If you have any questions please just let me know.Only rate when you are satisfied with my assistance.
