After getting wet due to normal rain event the car alarm horn comes on on start up. The climate control switches from cool to heat. One time the tacho and speedo also dropped out. Unfortunatley by the time the mechanic looks at it within a couple of days the problem has dried out and has returned to normal.

Hi,Do you have any evidence of water entry after these events? I do not see any probable way (As a single failure point) that all of these issues could occur from water/dampness outside the vehicle (ie, engine bay).I would look thoroughly at the lower firewall (inside) after a hard rain, pull the carpets back as well, look for any signs of moisture. More than likely we are going to be dealing with a leak at the windshield or a damaged sunroof drain hose, etc. These are most likely as all of your symptoms have electrical points inside the vehicle, however there isn't anything outside the vehicle (engine bay) that could cause your temperature to change from cold to heat. Now if we have multiple causes, that would be another story, however as you describe it, it sounds like these all cropped up together at the same time, and recur at the same time as well.Check out those firewall, carpet, etc areas after a heavy dousing with the garden hose and see if you can track any entry points after spraying down the windshield, sunroof, fenders, etc. That will give us a direction to head.
