Customer Question

Is an Unremarried first spouse (mother of military members only children) eligible for "widow's benefits?

A widow, by the legal definition used for the "widow's benefits" from the military is one that was married to the military member at the time of their death.

So, just not being remarried is not enough.

She was informed she was not eligible.

Understood. That is what I suspected based on the wording in your question.

You have to married at the time the veteran passes to be eligible, as I stated before.
