Iam a disabled veteran with 100% disability in 1995 fron veterans

Resolved Question:

Iam a disabled veteran with 100% disability in 1995 fron veterans admin at 60 years od age. Also received social security disability same time. When I reached age 65, was I eligible for regular social security?

Thanks for the chance to help. I am an attorney with over 12 years military law experience.

You can't receive Social Security retirement benefits and disability benefits at the same time. You have to pick which one (whichever one has the higher payout).

But you CAN receive VA disability in conjunction with either, since VA disability compensation is similar to workers compensation, it is not needs based and therefore not subject to a means test for income.
