I was married to a U.S. Marine for 10 years and married to a U.S. Navy Commander for 10 years. I receive spousal support from the second one. Both are retired. Can I qualify for a dependent ID card for being a military spouse for 20 years under the Dept of the Navy?

Thanks for the chance to assist There is not a provision that will allow for you to receive a dependent ID card based solely on the # XXXXX years you were married. If your Marriage is terminated, generally speaking so will your rights to an ID card and dependent status. There are rules that will allow you to draw a portion of your spouses retired pay if you are married for 10 years or more directly from DFAS. The longer you are married the higher this percentage. Unfortunately there are not similar rules for ID card and dependent status Sorry to bear bad news Please let me know if you have further questions; if so I will do my best to answer them. If not please hit the green accept button, its the only way I get paid.

I have friends who are divorced military spouses of over 20 years and they have ID cards. What is the criteria?
