I can't recover a previous version of a document in Word on my Mac OS10 El Capitan - Timetrade Backup is a separate drive I don't have here. I don't see "revert to" or an auto recovery of anything during the hour in question.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your computer? And what version of Word are you using?
Customer: Macbook pro
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Word 2008 12.0
JA: Anything else you want the Microsoft Office expert to know before I connect you?

Hi, I am here.

Expert:  bbao replied 6 months ago.

It seems your remote assistance requests were failed due to payment issue?

Expert:  bbao replied 6 months ago.

Are you sure you did the same thing (reverting to previous version) on Word 2008 for Mac? I just tested using my Word 2008, it doesn't work that way.

Therefore you have to rely on El Capitan's TimeMachine to get your files back, if available.

Expert:  bbao replied 6 months ago.

When were the previous version created? Hours ago or days ago?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Hours. Around 2 or 3 this afternoon, Pacific time. I have time machine, but I get a pop-up that says my backup disk is not available when I get into it
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I updated payment twice
Expert:  bbao replied 6 months ago.

The default interval setting for TimeMachine is one hour, so it should have been backed up by your TM if it worked as expected.

So let's move on to troubleshoot your TM. Can you please post a screenshot telling the exact error message you saw? Thanks.

Expert:  bbao replied 6 months ago.

Sometimes it does not work well from your side. If you like, I may send the request from my side at the same rate.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
When I click enter time machine it says your time machine backup cannot be found and it doesn't let me take a screenshot without closing the error window
Expert:  bbao replied 6 months ago.

Are you able to enter the shown page telling your TM configuration?
