I got the sample file and Excel froze due to a lot of missing files being referenced in the formulas. I believe this is not an issue from your part since those files being referenced in the formulas are accessible by your Excel? The files are in a Z drive. Please confirm

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the file does reference other files but he said that he turned off referencing when he sent it to me.
Expert:  Jess M. replied 1 year ago.

No, the referencing are still there so I believe that is the reason why Excel froze.

Do you want me to turn off the referencing of the external files?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
please do.
Expert:  Jess M. replied 1 year ago.

Here is the file with references of external files removed:

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok i am going to send him that file to check, maybe it would be better if you spoke with him directly, is that possible?
Expert:  Jess M. replied 1 year ago.

Unfortunately, that is not possible since I do not provide phone support. Just send him the file and see if it still works from his end with references removed.

Just let me know whatever is his comments on the revised file so that I can assist you further.

Best regards,

Jess

Hi Dan,

Thank you for writing back and I am sorry for the late reply. I am from a different time zone and it is 7:06AM now by the time of this writing.

I believe the problem is with his Excel 2016. Please ask him to TURN OFF or DISABLE all plugins first, then try to open the said file. To disable the plugins, click on File => Excel Options. Click on Addins and then click on GO button. Uncheck all items there to disable.

Please keep me posted with your results so that I can assist you further.

Best regards,

Jess
