Every time I save a MS Office presentation I get a screen

Customer Question

Every time I save a MS Office presentation I get a screen that indicates it is a read-only file and must save it with a different name. I do not want to do that every time.

Hi, welcome and thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I am glad to assist you today.

I am very sorry about your issues. Are you using Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 10?

What version of MS Office PowerPoint are you using: 2003, 2007, 2010, or 2013?

Lastly, is this happening with a particular file only? Or in ALL of your old and new presentation files?
Please let me know by replying to me here so that I can help you further.

Best regards,
Jess

I'm using windows 7, never had that problem before; however, since upgrading to PP2016, now I have the problem.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It's occurring in all my Powerpoint presentations.

Hi, thank you for writing back with that information. Please do the following step:

  1. Close all of your MS Office programs inclusing PowerPoint
  2. Click Start button or the Windows logo at the lower
  3. In the search box type "cmd" (without the quotes)
  4. In the search results, right click the blank CMD icon then click on "Run as Administrator"
  5. When you get a prompt, click OK or YES to confirm the action
  6. In the command prompt, type this command and press Enter to execute:

    sfc /scannow

  7. Allow the scan to complete and then open PP2016 and test

Please let me know your results so that I can assist you further.

Best regards,

Jess
