I inadveranly t some keys and half the excel screen turned

I inadveranly hit some keys and half the excel screen turned grey and all the excel crosshatching for the cells disappeared. I can still enter values into these cells but the outline is gone.

I am very sorry about your issues. I believe you just accidentally switched to a different VIEW in your Excel. To fix this, if indeed this is a view issue, please do the following:

  1. Open Excel
  2. Click on the VIEW menu at the top
  3. Under Workbook Views group, click on NORMAL
  4. See if the problem is resolved.
