I am using Excel 2010 and when I fill a cell down, the formula fills but the data being displayed does not update. I have uninstalled Microsoft Home Office and re-installed it but the problem persists.

I just tried CTRL + and a dialogue box appeared giving the following options:Shift cells right, shift cells down, entire row, entire column.

hold the ctrl button and while holding it press the back quote key i.e. just below Esc key once

This displays my formulas. How do I now check whether the display has applied them?
