When I open Excel from my START menu (Version 2007; Windows 7 Professional),four tabs open, with names of workbooks I thought I had deleted. They still open, even though they are blank workbooks. How can I cleanly delete them completely?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes. Every time. I can use them as "templates" and save as files. This does not seem to affect my spreadsheets; but I always have to "X" out four times to close the program.
