Excel does not immediately launch on my computer when I click

This answer was rated:

Excel does not immediately launch on my computer when I click the icon of a file. I must first bring up excel and then open the file from excel. I am using Windows on a PC . Any ideas. I don't have this problem with Word or Powerpoint.

The-PC-Guy :

i think it would be easier if I remoted in

The-PC-Guy :

The-PC-Guy :

now

The-PC-Guy :

The-PC-Guy :

you are double clicking a document

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

Yes

The-PC-Guy :

and it wont load the file that way

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

The-PC-Guy :

does this hapen with any excel file?

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

yes

The-PC-Guy :

ok

The-PC-Guy :

what is the exact error message you get?

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

I get a message saying that there was a problem sending that command to the program, and excel does pop up (But not the file). So, it is not allowing the actual file to load.

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

"there was a problem sending the command to the program" was the exact syntax

The-PC-Guy :

ok

The-PC-Guy :

do you know what version of office you have on the computer?

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

2007

The-PC-Guy :

The-PC-Guy :

do you have the installation CD handy?

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

actually, no

The-PC-Guy :

I'm loading my 2007 now to see i

The-PC-Guy :

if I can find an alternative method for you to fix this

The-PC-Guy :

I think your excel may have been corrupted

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

I can get the installation CD later today and reinstall it. It was working fine for 2-3 years before this happened. Like I said, it is not happening on Word or Powerpoint, so it is just an excel issue.

JACUSTOMER-8uzd4fig- :

The-PC-Guy :
