I'm sorry. Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7, or Mac computer? What's your MS office/word version, such as 2003, 2007, 2010, etc.?

Does this issue occur with a particular document or all previous and new documents?

I'm working on a Mac Air, with the latest OSX 10.8.3. I'm using MS Word for Mac 2011 v 14.2.5 (121010) Latest Installed Update: 14.2.5.


I'll check if it happens with all docs or just this one.

I just tried opening up an older doc that was long - 40+pages, also .doc format, and no the problem didn't happen with that.


 


So it appears it's only happening with this one .doc.

I don't want to use wikisend.


I can upload it to google docs and share with you if I have your email address.


 


I just tried uploading the .doc to google docs, then viewing it via the google docs viewer (no kanji, looked AOK), then tried downloading it from google docs and opening it up again on my Mac Air, and the kanji was back. Darn!

It's strange that it happens with only that document. I'm sorry, I'm only allow to communicate via this web page. Can you make the .doc public (you can change it later after we are done), then tell me the file ID / link?

You're welcome. It should not happen again; I think it was just a glitch. I tried two solutions:

For the first file, I just save as to a new document/file name.

For the second file, I select all and copy and paste to a brand-new file.
