It can be an issue within the Word Registry settings and I wish to reset Word to default.

To do this, click this link Click Me

and scroll about halfway down the page and click Fix It.

Run the file to reset Word, then restart the computer and test.

Thank you for your reply. I've been wondering what I should do to fix the problem. Winzip tells me that I have a registry problem that they could fix if I install their software. Can you tell me whether this would
help?. The mouse and cursor operation has become worse, in that I have trouble deleting text. I can highlight it and mess around with the cursor for several minutes and eventually I am able to delete or backspace, but it's very time-consuming. I'm prepared to wait for an answer if you really think you are able to help from a distance.
