i need help with this if formular: =IF(C12=Patients!A12:A1000,Patients!G12:G1000,"Source")

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Do you want to list the value from the G column if the C column matches any value in the A Column?

=IF(C12=Patients!A12:A1000,Patients!G12:G1000,"Source")

A Name is XXXXX XXXXX column C12 and i want to search for that name in a different sheet (patients) Column A12:A1000 and return the answer in column Patients G12:G1000, if name is XXXXX XXXXX return toe word "Source"

hope this help

this will do what you want

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(TRIM(\$C12),Patients!\$A\$12:\$G\$1000,1,FALSE)),"Source",VLOOKUP(TRIM(\$C12),Patients!\$A\$12:\$G\$1000,7,FALSE))

i can't see the whole formula

not sure why you can't see the formula.

This file contains the formula

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(TRIM(\$C12),Patients!\$A\$12:\$G\$1000,1,FALSE)),"Source",VLOOKUP(TRIM(\$C12),Patients!\$A\$12:\$G\$1000,7,FALSE))

Just put it in whatever column you want in row 12, and copy down for however many rows you need
