Customer Question

I am trying to build a structure stiffness matrix for a plane truss. I have all the global striffness matrix for each member in an excel file, each member on a different page. Using xlsread, im trying to build the stiffness matrix for the entire truss but I do not know how to read the specific excel file for that member. Here is the code. GK is the global stiffness matrix function [S]=Calculate_S NCJT=2; JB=xlsread('Tutorial3.xlsx', 1, 'J4:J9'); JE=xlsread('Tutorial3.xlsx', 1, 'K4:K9'); NJ=xlsread('Tutorial3.xlsx', 1, 'B3'); GK=xlsread('Output_Tutorial_4', 'A1:D4'); NSC=[ 6 7 1 8 2 3 4 5]'; i=1; NDOF=5; S=zeros(2*NJ,2*NJ); g=1; for i=1:(2*NCJT) if i==1:NCJT; I1=(JB-1)*NCJT+i; N1=NSC(I1); else I1=(JE-1)*NCJT+(i-NCJT); N1=NSC(I1); end for N1=1:NDOF; J=1; for J=1:(2*NCJT); if J==1:NCJT; I1=(JB-1)*NCJT+J; else I1=(JE-1)*NCJT+(J-NCJT); end for N2=1:NDOF; S(N1,N2)=S(N1,N2)+GK(i,J); end end end end
