How do I import my Windows XP Outlook Express address book

This answer was rated:

How do I import my Windows XP Outlook Express address book (old computer) into Windows 7 Outlook 2010 (new computer).

I exported the address book into a .wab file, copied it to the new computer, and clicked on it. A window popped up saying "importing contacts", but the contacts still don't appear in Outlook.

I tried File->Open->Import->Import Internet Mail and Addresses ->...etc, but it would not give me the option of giving a file name. It imported by broken account settings again, even though I only checked "Import Address book".

The instruction on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/286116 seem to assume I'm upgrading an existing computer from OE to Outlook 2010, not moving from an old computer to a new computer.
