I bought a new Macbook air and installed from my time machine

Customer Question

I bought a new Macbook air and installed from my time machine back up from my older Macbook pro.
When I try to open an excel file it comes up with the error message
"can not be accessed, the file maybe read only, or you may be trying to access a read only location. Or the server the document is stored on may not be responding"

This only happens with Excel files I created no matter if they are edited and returned to me by another user. I can open new files no problem and I can open files created by someone else no problem.
