I am working with MS Excel 2010. I want to update/filter

This answer was rated:

I am working with MS Excel 2010.

I want to update/filter a pivot table based on a value inputted/selected from a validation list in another portion of the spreadsheet. How do I do this? I am not a programmer and do not have VB knowledge. I have limited experience with Macros.

Hi,

Would you be able to send me the file

Hi John,

Yes, would be happy to.

How do attach a file to this message? Is there an alternate method for sending the file?

Regards,

Peter

Ok go to http://www.wikisend.com/ and upload the file using the Browse button (no need to signup) then copy the "File ID" number (or the download link) that you will be given and paste it here in your reply.

If the file has sensitive information let me know before you upload it

Hi John,

Please find the download link below.

On sheet1, there is a redbox whose value can be changed with a droplist selection. When changed, the new value is meant to automatically update the pivot table based on the filter for group.

Peter

The macro fires automatically when a selection is made in cell G3. The code is in Sheet1 module

Hope this is ok. Thank you for rating this answer "Excellent" or "Good" if I was able to answer your question (will continue to assist after rating if you still need help)
