I have a problem with Outlook for Mac ,part of Office 2011, when I send a email I get a 17092 error
Already Tried: Deleting mail account and starting over again, it is smtp problem
try the below steps within outlook to resolve your issue
Message is in Outbox and does not send
Have you closed and reopened outlook after making the above change and also does new email send out properly now. Please be sure to answer both questions. Thanks.
Have not closed and reopened outlook, does not send out there is a 1 in outbox
To confirm though you did follow the steps i listed above. Next let's close outlook and then reopen it. if the message is still in the outbox let's delete it (if thats ok, it will be permanently gone) then lets try to send another new email. let me know what error you receive if any.
Circle is just going round and around, only 1 KB to send, I get a timed out message
ok, so the original 17092 error has been cleared? I'll need a few more minutes to research he new issue.
It has not been put right yet, emails come in OK but will not send any at all.
Not a problem, i'll continue to work on this, just wanted to see if the first error message was removed so we can move through the troubleshooting process. I see there is some correlation between safari and the exact issue you are having. from your mac please go to the below link and install the latest safari version. You'll just need to click download after clicking on the below link Please close outlook before doing this, once installed reopen outlook and try sending a new email. http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Does not work, ring going round and around, timed out, oh dear
what company do you use for email? ex. gmail, yahoo, aol, verizon, etc...
Talk talk
can you confirm you have SMTP.talktalk.net set in your account settings as the outgoing server address. you can get there by following the directions i sent earlier. if they dont match for please change the outgoing address to smtp.talktalk.net and give it another go.
No. There is. Smtp.o2.co.uk
ok,that's your issue then, it's trying the wrong server please change it to smtp.talktalk.net and save. then try sending again.
Did not work. Incoming server which works has. Mail.btinternet.com. Do I change 586
no let's not change incoming settings since they are working. but let's try changing the outgoing to the same Mail.btinternet.com then save and test sending againin your email address what does it say after the @ symbol
btinternet.com. It has worked without any error
sorry, last post was a little confusing. Have you changed the outgoing server address to Mail.btinternet.com and saved the setting then tested. let me know if it's working now.
It is working now. After @ is btinternet
