Hello and welcome to JustAnswer~! My name is XXXXX XXXXX I would like to assist you with your question.

The default values — AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), 128-bit key length, SHA1, and CBC (cipher block chaining)

Customer: So what exactly is the algorithm? Does it apply to all versions of Microsoft word? Same with the key strength. What exactly is it and is it the same for all versions?
Travis :

AES and 128 bit I believe this applies to 2010 and 2007 sp2.

Travis :

These values are by default and can be modified and many more can be used.
