If I put &[Date] in the footer of my excel documents will it

This answer was rated:

If I put &[Date] in the footer of my excel documents will it show the date the document has been last updated/saved or the date that it's being printed/viewed?

rhess :

Hello

Customer:

Hi

rhess :

If you use the automatic &[Date] function to add the date to the footer, it's going to always show the current date.

rhess :

So, no matter who opens it, it's going to show the current date

rhess :

The only way to get past this is to enter the date manually before you save it

Customer:

So I need to manually enter the date the documents were last revised

rhess :

If that's what you want it to display, then yes

Customer:

Okay what a pain

Customer:

Yes thanks
