2) While in Microsoft Outlook, while reading an email sent to me, when I click on a link within an email, I get the following error message:
This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.
Please contact your system administrator.

This may take a couple of steps, but Id like to start with t his one.

Click the start button ( at the lower left hand corner of your computer)

then, click " Default Programs" on the right

Then click " set your default programs"

Then click internet explorer,

Then click set this program as default.

Now, close outlook, open it.. And then try to open a link in your email again. If it wont open, let me know and we can change the next group of settings as needed.

followed your advice with the Outlook 2010 and I still get the same error message

ok, lets try this next.

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.


  3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset under Reset Internet Explorer settings.


  4. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset to confirm.

 

once t hats complete.. Close internet explorer, then close and reopen outlook

 

Now try again.. if you still cant open a link, try this next

 

download this file..

open the file once downloaded.. theres three files inside.. the readme file will tell you how to run the other two..

 

Once y ou have run both the 32 and 64 bit to be sure..

 

restart the computer, then try outlook again.. Let me know if this doesnt work, or if you get stuck at any point..
