Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
You need to allow it to download. (Disable your antivirus/security program temporarily if needed.) Thank you.

What happens when you click on the website http://tinyurl.com/277xy3a? Does it give any error message? Does it have the option to allow? Thanks.

You can go to Start, Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features and repair Microsoft Office. Thanks.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
program will only allow me to uninstall, no option to repair
Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
OK, you can uninstall Office and restart the computer and reinstall it. Thanks.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Have uninstalled office, how do i re-install?
Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
Do you have the office disk? Do you have the office product key?

Do you have office 2003, 2007, 2010, etc?

Is the office type Home & Student, Professional, Ultimate, etc? Thanks.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

It is a new computer with a trial version of Office 2010 already installed, I do not have disk or product key

I have also installed Office Home and Student 2007

Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
You have to purchase office 2010 after the trial is over, anyway.

If you have the office 2007 disk ,then you can install.

If you do not have the office 2007 disk and/or product key, you can download and install office 2010 at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/
; it's free for 60 days, then you can decide to buy.

Another option is to download and install the free Open Office program at
http://openoffice.org/

Thank you.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Thanks, but i did not want the 2010 version, that's why i installed the 2007 version. Can you suggest anything that i can do just to be able to open my 2007 documents? Or should i just restore to factory settings and try again? I had hoped to avoid this.
Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
You're welcome. You can install the 2007 version if you still have the disk and/or the product key.

Otherwise, version 2010 will be able to open your 2007 documents also.

And Open Office will be able to open your 2007 documents also.

Thank you.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

The 2007 version is already installed - however the problem is that the 2010 version will not open my documnts - as i said before, i get the message " There was a problem sending a command to this program"

I think now that the only thing that i can do is to back up and restore to factory settings and if that fails, return PC to supplier.

Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
I thought you have already uninstalled all office programs, including office 2010, per my previous suggestions. OK, you can back up and restore to factory settings. Please let me know if you have any further question later. Thank you.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
No, i only uninstalled the 2010 version which of course i can't now reinstall - would unistalling and reinstalling the 2007 version make any difference?
Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
It could help; please try. Thanks.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
sorry, tried everything but in the end i had to reset to facory options which is what i thought i would have to do in the first place. thanks for trying
Expert:  Viet -MS Office Tech replied 5 years ago.
You're welcome. Sorry, the office software was corrupted. If you have any other computer question/issue, please let me know. Thank you.
