Hi, welcome to My name is Jess and I am happy to assist you today.

  1. Are you saying that you have a file that is password-protected and that you cannot open it now since the password won't work?
  2. If that is so, what kind of file is it? A Word or Excel file?

If the file does not contain sensitive data, can you send it to me so that I can unlock or remove the password and then I will just send back the unlocked version?

If that is possible, then click on this link and upload the Excel file:

After uploading, you shall get a 6-digit File ID. Post the file ID so that I can then download the file.

If you can't send the file for security reasons, please let me know so that I can help you further.

How is it going?

Hi, I am still trying my various tools to recover or to remove the password. It really takes a lot of time since the tool tries several thousands of passwords to match the forgotten password.

I am still working on it now and I will keep you posted with the results.

An other question. I am using Excel 2000. Can I, and if so how do I, write an "and or" Criteria for an SUMIF formula?
Expert:  Jess M. replied 4 years ago.
Hi, I am sorry but I have tried several tools to recover the password of the locked file but the password can't be recovered after long hours of password recovery.

Your only option is to remove the password using a password remover tool.

Please click on this link:

In that page, download the tools then try to use the tool to remove the forgotten password of the locked file.

I hope that helped. Keep me posted.
