I am endeavouring to set up and activate Office 2010 Professional

I am endeavouring to set up and activate Office 2010 Professional but this is interupted after approx 10 seconds with a warning that SET UP HAS STOPPED WORKING a problem caused the programme to stop working correctly.

I have an old version of Office 10 transferred from my old computer which I could not get to work. I am unable to uninstal from my contro; panel

I get a message that it is the wrong language? when I try to uninstal

Ok, if you cannot install it through the Control Panel, you can use some uninstaller software to remove it.
