Many time, when using MS Office or Outlook 2010, my cursor

Customer Question

Many time, when using MS Office or Outlook 2010, my cursor changes to a magnifying glass, and the font size shifts almost continually from very large to so small I cannot read it. The size of the doc/spreadsheet/email can also change. In the past, we've reset the zoom, but this time the zoom is grayed out. I have had my tech support and Dell's tech support run diagnostics. Both believe that this is an MS issue. Any suggestions?

Hello

My name is Pieter. I am here to assist you with the problem.

Are you using a Desktop computer, or a Laptop?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

Dell Laptop. I have a docking station for use in my office. some symptoms:

Whenever I have returned my laptop to its the docking station I seem to have this problem.

In this last occurence, the zoom feature seems to be stuck at a very low %, say 30 or so, but this only occurs in the body of an email, not the "to" or the "subject" boxes.

This sounds like a stuck 'Ctrl' button on the keyboard.
Because, the shortcut key for zoom is Ctrl+mouse wheel.

Please unplug the keyboard before you dock the laptop, and see if that makes any difference.

Let me know if that doesn't solve the problem.
