I recently purchased an iphone and I am receiving e mail on

I recently purchased an iphone and I am receiving e mail on the device. However, I am not receiving my e mail at the same address through Outlook on my laptop. What are the steps that will allow e mails to come through Outlook as well?

Ok, try this:

  • Open Outlook.
  • Click the Tools menu and select E-mail Accounts…
  • Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
  • Choose POP3 as the server type by clicking the radio button and click Next.
  • User Information
    • Name: Enter the user’s name as it should appear in the “from:” field of outgoing messages.
    • Email Address: Enter an email address.
    • For example:XXX@XXXXXX.XXX
  • Server Information
    • Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.charter.net
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTO): smtp.charter.net
  • Login Informationcharter email with outlook How to Link a Charter Email with Outlook
    • Enter a user name and password XXXXX Password.
    • User Name: Enter the Full email address
    • Password: Enter the password XXXXX that email address
  • Click More Settings…, then click the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  • Click the Advanced tab and check the box next to “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)” under “Incoming Server (POP3).”
  • Ensure that Incoming Server is set to 110 and under “Outgoing Server (SMTP),” the default is 25 in the box next to “Outgoing server (SMTP).”
  • Click OK.
  • Click Test Account Settings… After receiving “Congratulations! All tests completed successfully,” click Close.
  • Click Next then click Finish.

Received error message "Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) e mail server....." Test e mail failed. ????

when I changed the settings i was unable to send. I changed them back to where they were before and am able to send and at times I can receive?? I just received a message......weird?! Also, I can receive through my iphone but the inbox is deleted after a few minutes without any action on my part.

On the phone:

  1. In Settings, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. Select the account for which you wish to change the settings.
  3. Select Advanced, located at the bottom of the list.
  4. Select the Delete from server option.
  5. Choose Seven days from the pop-up menu.
  6. Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.

 

You can also set it in outlook as well, otherwise when one gets the mail, it deletes it and then the other device has no knowledge of it at all...

It was set that way already so we will see. Back to Outlook. Error message says "...mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another e mail message is being delivered to it or another mail application is accessing it. the server responded with error account is locked by another session or for maintenance." Sounds like the phone and laptop are working against each other?? Suggestions?

OK. back to the inbox on phone. Messages arrive fine but once i hit back to inbox from the message screen they are gone. Not in trash just gone??
