Can you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds after you turn the key to run before you turn the key to start?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Nope
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I'm no longer @ the car...unsafe to remain
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Why is it unsafe?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

is it far? When do you plan on going back to it?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Is this the 4.0 or 4.6 engine?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

I can tell you which fuse to check or replace when you get back to it.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

I see you requested a phone call back at 5;12, do you still want that?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Neighborhood...and it was a while...gave up on getting help...no offense
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

No problem, I just now seen the question. Anyhow, do you want me to look up the fuse?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Fuse?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Found fuel switch...not a red bottom but rather a rubber membrane under passenger side access panel...nothing
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Button
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Ok, stop right there. If you want me to help you have to tell me which engine is in this?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

And when did you find that fuel shutoff switch? I thought you said you were no longer at the vehicle.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Found switch @ car several hours ago...pressed membrane on top but nothing...fuse to what because that could be the P problem...and no on the call
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Is this the 4.0 or 4.6 engine?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Vin is 4m2zu 86w12 uj28 45
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

So you don't know what engine I in this?

You don't have enough vin numbers, you are missing 1.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
4m2zu 86w12 uj281 45 suffer Z
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Suffix
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Where are you getting these numbers from?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Title
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Do you know what engine is in this or not?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

I don't think that is a vin #.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Not my car...how about a prefix 3 4m2zu 86w12 uj281 45 suffix z
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

No. Who's car is it? Why don't you just ask them what engine is in it?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
They are not here... daughter
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I doubt she knows anyway..can't bring up by vin?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

I believe it's the 4.6. The fuses are #26 and #46 in the battery junction block.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

If they are ok, try a new fuel pump relay. You had already checked the fuel pump shutoff switch, correct.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Pushed the little membrane on top...no trauma to car anyway... battery junction box is different from the other box the fuses are in? Relays I'm sure are there.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

The battery junction box is near the battery.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I'll find it tomorrow...that little black box inline with lines coming off pos and/or neg terminal I would imagine
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Here is a diagram of it.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Just googled it...fuse box under hood...thx
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

I already told you " The battery junction box is near the battery."

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Did that answer your question? If so, kindly leave me a positive rating, so I get credit. After all, you have already made the deposit.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

From what I see the cooling fan relay is grounded through the pcm so if you can ground the cooling fan relay at the white/violet wire and get the fan to run, then the problem has to be with the pcm. It could be the pcm itself, or data it receives from anything else including the cylinder head temperature sensor.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Since that pcm communicates through data lines, I believe the next best step is to have those trouble codes retrieved and give them to me. You could try to rent or borrow a scan tool or at least a code reader.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Damn, sorry wrong customer, ignore those last 3 replies.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

Did you get back to the vehicle yet or have it towed out of that neighborhood and home?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Thanks for the concern but I decided to not continue with your service...I would not imagine they would like you wasting your time with me....
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 months ago.

yeah
