Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose).

Can I get the year model?

You wrote the key will not come out of park after starting the engine?

Is the concern with the key or the shifter?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
A 1996 model Mercury Sable. Problem is with shifter - cannot shift out of Park after starting
but sometimes can so shift if key position was held to right (into R) when starting. If shifter is
moved into Park after stopping, it locks itself there and again cannot be moved to right.

Is the shifter on the column or in the console?
