Hello, the workshop manual wants you to use a scan tool to read the throttle position sensor voltage.

  1. Connect the special tool to the fuse panel data link connector (DLC).
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  1. Configure the special tool with the correct year, vehicle, and mode.
  1. Measure the throttle position (TP) sensor voltage with the throttle valve completely closed.
  1. Loosen the TP sensor screws and adjust the TP sensor to a reading of 0.3V - 0.7V.
    1. Tighten the TP sensor screws.
    1. Make sure that the idle position switch PID reads ON.
    1. Run the vehicle until it reaches normal operating temperature.
    1. Turn off the vehicle.
    1. Turn the ignition on for five seconds and off for five seconds. Repeat 20 times.
