I have a 02 mountaineer with 2 codes and I cant figure out how to go about diagnosing the problems. The codes are p0230 and p0231.

Can I get the build date from the label in the drivers door jam?

With the inertia switch unplugged, monitoring the voltage on the dark green/yellow wire, is the power when the key is turned on?

If you power the pink/black will the fuel pump run, make pressure and the engine start?

With the key on there is no power to the green and yellow wire for the inertia switch if I power the pink and black wire the fuel pump will run and make fuel pressure but the truck still will not start the build date for this vehicle is 01 / 01

With the key on, is the theft light on or flashing, is the check engine light on?

While cranking is the check engine light off?

Are you sure its a 02 model with a build date 01/01? New model years do not normally come out till August. Can I get the vin#?

The theft light gos out with the key on, and the check engine light is on at this time. Also the check engine light is out when cranking.

CEL status means the PCM is powering up and the PCM is getting a CKP signal.

PATS light status means the theft system is not activated.

Its for sure a 02 model, lets gets the fuel pump working then diagnose the no start issue later if required. Remove the fuel pump relay under the hood.

pin 5 should be power all the time fuse 26

pin 2 power with the key on fuse 46

pin 3 goes to the inertia switch, not tested

pin 1 needs to be grounded by the PCM when the key is turned on.

Check those for us.
