Have a 2000 mercury cougar just had timing chains replaced

have a 2000 mercury cougar just had timing chains replaced started before replacement. now mechanic says fuel running high is whats causing it to not start up and need new fuel rail sensor? which is impossible to find..but not sure if it could just be a bad pump??

To me, being in the business for 30 years, sounds like the mechanic broke it doing the timing chains and now is trying to get you to pay for it. Ask to see it and see if there is a vacuum port still attached to it. If there is no port, he broke it and you should not have to pay, especially since it ran before they did the work.
