Hi, I’m Chris. Welcome and thanks for asking your question!
Does this feel like a driveline vibration or a engine concern?
Is the vibration constant like a washing machine on the spin cycle or more intermittent like a large thunder that is intermittent, I am not saying it feels like this, just trying to tell if it is always occurring or intermittent?
It feels like driveline vibration because when i release the accelerator, you still can feel the vibration. From my observation, the vehicle vibration would begin to ease off when it reaches top speed like 70 MPH and then when the vehicle slow down to 40MPH the humming sound eases off. The humming and to an extent vibration between 40MPH to 70MPh..The Vehicle drives fine on Surface street...The problem starts soon as you hit the Expressway...
Thanks for the great reply Remi.
Step one is to have the tires balanced to make sure a wheel weight has not come off. At the same time check for tire wear issues due to alignment concerns. If the wheels and tires addressed do not help then it is time to remove the rear driveshaft and work the U-joints in hand to see if they can move there full range with out slack or binding. If those are fine, remove the front driveshaft and drive the vehicle as just a rear wheel drive to see if you have a concern with the front axle.
