I have a 1997 mercury villager. I though there was a problem with battery so trickle charged the battery for 5 hours. It still wouldn't start but was able to be jumped. We drove for an hour then shut it off and it will not start again with a new battery or jump. There is no power to anything even after putting a new battery in. Ideas?

Thanks for your question. Sorry you're having car problems. If I go off line, just leave a message and I'll be right back. DO NOT leave feedback yet. It sounds like the battery is just plain bad and needs to be replaced, BUT, be sure that the alternator is charging first too. Thanks, Ron

OK, I just switched us to Q & A because CHAR has a problem. Read all that I wrote above. Thanks, Ron
I see the note above. Seems like might be electrical something. I tried a different battery and if alternator wouldn't the car start with a fresh battery?
OK, if the battery and alternator are both fine, then you have a parastic draw in your electrical system. This attachment, IF done properly, will lead you right to the problem. Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron,
I haven't been able to get the machine yet to test the power level. Will do as soon as possible. I will rate and accept but hoping to have car moving first.
Jeff
