I have a 2006 mercury mountaineer. driving at lower speeds the transmission shifts smooth and nicely. once on the highway at about 60 it seems to chug but then cruises smoothly after reaching cruise speed. not sure if it's a fuel or transmission problem.
Optional Information: Year : 2006 Make : Mercury Model: mountaineer Engine: V8 Already Tried: nothing
Thanks for your question. Sorry you're having car problems, I will do my best to apply my research and supply you with an accurate answer ASAP. From your description, it does not sound like a trans issue. The best thing that you can do to be sure, is to have the computer scanned and all the sensor data captured and reviewed such as STFT, LTFT, MAF grams per second readings etc. These values will point to the problem. Any other ways would be just expensive guess work. Hope all this helps you. Thanks, Ron

Please note: not every answer I give you is something you were hoping to hear, even though it is true, such as; (it’s more expensive than you wanted to spend, or you will need to have a professional repair shop do the diagnostics and /or repairs due to complexity reasons).
I will be taking the vehicle to the dealership today. I will foloow up with you on their findings. Thanks
Good deal. Thanks, Ron
