99 Mercury Villager. Replaced front heater blower motor resistor,

Resolved Question:

99 Mercury Villager. Replaced front heater blower motor resistor, got all 3 fan speeds back. Worked fine for a few weeks, then it blew again. Does that suggest need to replace motor, too? (i.e., that a motor problem is causing enough current draw to fry the resistor)?

Hello and Thank you for choosing Just Answer.

Almost everytime I replace a blower resistor I replace the motor also due to the same problem. The reason why the resistor blows is usually due to the motor drawing to many amps. I would recommend replacing the motor.
