The child seat tether bolt installs in the rear for the rear seat only. Below are the directions for the install.

NOTE: The child safety seat tether must be attached to a child safety belt anchor tether (613D74) which is bolted to the rear floor pan (11215) . The child safety belt anchor tether bolt must first be removed.

Removal

1. Open the liftgate (40010) and remove the luggage compartment hold down net (55066) (if equipped).

1. WARNING: IF THE CHILD SAFETY BELT ANCHOR TETHER BOLT IS REMOVED, THE HOLE MUST BE SEALED TO PREVENT THE POSSIBILITY OF EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.

   Cut through the plastic along the U-shaped tether location outlines on the floor carpet (13000) of the luggage area in order to gain access to the child safety belt anchor tether bolt.
   

1. Remove the child safety belt anchor tether bolt.

Installation

WARNING: ONLY USE THE TETHER ATTACHMENT HOLE LOCATIONS SHOWN IN THE ILLUSTRATION. THE TETHER ANCHOR MAY NOT PERFORM PROPERLY IF THE WRONG MOUNTING LOCATION IS USED.

WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS COULD INCREASE THE CHANCE AND/OR SEVERITY OF INJURY IN AN ACCIDENT.

Install the child safety belt anchor tether to accommodate a tether strap as follows:

1. Attach the preassembled child safety belt anchor tether hardware by orienting the tab in the bracket toward the front of the vehicle.

1. Install the child safety belt anchor tether bolt. Tighten the child safety belt anchor tether bolt to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).

1. Follow the child safety seat directions for attaching the tether strap to the anchor bracket.
