2001 Mecury Sable. Driving home the other night and dash light for the Trans Axle come on. Got the car home and noticed a trail of fluid following it. Checked fluid next day still has fluid in it. I checked the codes today and got P1744 Pending.

P1744 is the system seeing excessive slipping during Torque Converter Clutch engagement. Here are the pinpoint tests. Folloew them closely, but you will soon hit a point where you need special diagnostic tools, an electronisc trans tester. In the end you may just need a TCC solenoid, but it must be diagnosed first. Pending codes are where data is stored prior to a warning light on, adress this concern right away.
