97 Grand Marquis check engine light came on took it to AutoZone to have them read the code, they said that the #1 cylinder was miss-firing now the check engine light is flashing is the car safe to drive?

Since the Check Engine Light is flashing, I would highly recommend NOT driving the vehicle any further. You may do more damage to the motor. If the check engine light were on steady, I would say it is safe to drive the vehicle.
