You have the 24 Valve motor for future reference, The 24v motor has a difficult alternator to replace. I would like to first warn you it is quite difficult to remove and replace the alternator on your Sable. You will have to dedicate at least 3 hours to replacing it. A few special tools are also needed to remove and replace the alternator.

First you need to remove the Belt:

Note: On step 9, You will need to use a pry bar or big screwdriver to hold the flywheel while you remove the crank bolt
